Double Tree Resort by Hilton is a hospitality project developed by TropicX Design Studio, focused on delivering modern architectural solutions that balance functionality, experience, and environmental context.
The DoubleTree Resort by Hilton underwent a significant refurbishment and rebranding in 2015, transforming the former Sonaisali Island Resort into a modern, high-end destination. TropicX Design Studio played a key role as both architects and project managers, overseeing the renovation of guest accommodations, public spaces, and recreational facilities, with a budget of 20 million FJD.
The refurbishment focused on maintaining the island charm while upgrading the resort to meet Hilton’s global standards. The project won the 2016 Fiji Architects Association Refurbishment Hotel Project Award, recognizing its success in preserving the resort’s unique appeal while elevating its luxury offerings.
