Momos Tavern is a tropicX-designed hospitality project that transformed a compact tenancy into one of Fiji's first dedicated whisky bars, combining bespoke craftsmanship, premium materials, and efficient planning to create a distinctive dining and social destination.
Completed in 2023 in Nadi, Fiji, Momos Tavern is a FJD 250,000 hospitality project that transformed a compact 55 m² tenancy into one of Fiji's first dedicated whisky rooms and sports bars. Originally conceived as a fish and chips takeaway, the project was reimagined following construction delays during the COVID-19 pandemic, evolving into a unique destination showcasing over 100 single malt whiskies and an extensive collection of sports memorabilia.
The design celebrates local craftsmanship through the use of natural stone, locally sourced timber, polished concrete, and custom-built joinery, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere. Despite its modest footprint, the venue accommodates a full-service kitchen, whisky bar, coffee station, flexible seating, and supporting amenities, demonstrating how thoughtful design and efficient planning can transform a small space into a memorable hospitality experience.
